Overwhelm, my 4 Steps to Wellness

Hi again,
I am excited to announce that I’m joining BodySenseByShaz!

How many of these can you tick?
[ ] Lack of energy– too much to do and not enough time to do it. ‘Can’t be bothered’ attitude
[ ] Anxiety– about the past, future, world in general
[ ] Sleep Problems– insomnia, waking through the night, always waking up tired
[ ] Indecision– life direction, career changes, procrastinating
[ ] Digestion– constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, bloating, food intolerances, can’t lose or gain weight

As a Wellness Consultant, my true passion is working with stressed people who want to keep their lives and bodies in balance. Natural Medicine is quickly becoming one of the leading tools that successful people use to really be their best.
I help busy, stressed people find some peace and regain control of their lives.

Specifically, I help my clients:
Have more energy for living.
Be confident in speaking their own truth.
Be comfortable in their own skin.

I treat a variety of people, while specializing in those who are trying to find out who they truly are and their purpose in life. When you discover this, you are able to love yourself for who you really are, not who you think others want you to be. And once you find the inner voice that is yearning to be not only heard, but listened to, the world is your oyster!

My unique ‘4 Steps to Wellness Program’ balances many different facets to encourage relaxation and healing. With this program, my clients have more energy and deal with stress better, so they can function more efficiently in both their working and personal lives.

Doesn’t that sound great?

The first step is to work out where you are NOW.
Then, together we work out where you WANT to be.
Step 3 is the ‘intensive treatment’ phase of the process and may take several visits to reach our previously set goals.
Step 4 is maintenance sessions to keep you under control. Most people choose monthly or 6 weekly visits to stay on top of things.

Have a great Xmas everyone, see you all next year.

Top Tips for a non-overwhelmed Christmas

Do you look forward to Christmas, or does it instill a feeling of dread and ‘Oh, when will it be over?’
Many of us are already stressed and worn out, then the thought of having to deal with the Auntie who judges and the Uncle who pinches your bum between courses is just too much. For others it brings back unpleasant or sad memories. There is all that rich food, running all over the country-side visiting people you don’t see any other time of the year– no wonder we don’t all see Christmas as an enjoyable time of the year.
BUT, it doesn’t have to be that way…..

Now, you have probably heard many of these before, but they do work and they will allow you to get the most out of any holidays you manage to get this year.

1. Alcohol in moderation– water is still the most important drink to have. (20ml per kg of body weight per day MINIMUM!)

2. Surround yourself with ‘good energy’ people– if there is someone you really don’t like, limit how much time you spend with them.

3. Get enough sleep– you should wake up refreshed.

4. Exercise– be it walking, swimming, yoga—just get off your bum and MOVE.

5. Make some ‘down time’- don’t over-fill the schedule so that all your days are spent rushing form here to there– slow down! And enjoy yourself.

My unique ‘4 Steps to Wellness Program’ balances many different facets to encourage relaxation and healing. With this program, you will have more energy and deal with stress better, so you can function more efficiently in both your working and personal life. Doesn’t that sound great?

Investing in you own Wellbeing

Have you ever thought of yourself as an investment?
We put lots of effort into our youngsters to educate and feed them so that they can grow into successful adults, but what then?
We save money for our future, buy life insurance (hopefully), car insurance, house insurance– but what about ourselves?
A small investment in your well-being can greatly enhance your life in so many ways– better relationships, more energy, better sleep– being able to get the MAXIMUM out of every day!

That’s where ‘Tune-Ups’ come into their own.
A 4, 6 or 8 weekly ’Tune-up’ regardless of whether you are sick or not is a great way to keep on top of things so that you minimise the chances of major issues developing. Reiki or Kinesiology can help to keep you in check, you don’t have to wait for things to break before seeking my services.
Work out the investment as a daily cost and compare it to your daily coffee from the local cafĂ© or your new pair of shoes each season– you might be surprised just how little it is!

Well, on the Thursday, 9th of October at Simply Strath I said my piece! Along with Frank Caspers, an insightful evening of discussion on Body and Soul was had by all those in attendance. And those who had the citrus tart really enjoyed it!
Despite the group being a small one, we discussed many things as usual. We managed to find some common ground despite our different perspectives which is great. It’s sometimes better with a smaller group– everyone gets to contribute. Thankyou to those who came.
The next installment of Spring Table Talk will be in November.

Self Healing

Many clients ask me what they can take or do to give themselves a boost.
Quite often it’s what they can remove from their bodies that will give them more energy and that special ZING!
I’m a believer in ‘self-healing’, that is, give the body the best possible environment and let it do the rest itself.

If your car was running a bit sluggishly and hadn’t had new oil for a while, would you change the oil and oil-filter, or would you pump more liquids and powders into it, hoping it will run better?
Your body is the same, my Foot Detox Patches and Ear Candles take waste FROM the body so it can function more efficiently, without the need for additives.
Certainly, sometimes supplements are warranted, (and antibiotics if you have a raging dose of pneumonia!), but how about we keep our bodies running like the well engineered machines they are?

Robyn Stitt will be Guest Presenter at the up-coming October Meeting of ‘Spring Table Talk’ on October 9th.
Come along to Simply Strath in High St at 7pm (or earlier if you want to eat too), for a lively evening of discussion on Body and Spirit. Two speakers begin the night then a group discussion follows until about 9.
It’s interactive and definitely not judgemental– come along and be intellectually challenged!!

This month’s special is to celebrate my own, dedicated wellness space!
I love it and want you all to love it with me– let’s share the love.
If you haven’t seen it yet, and experienced its beauty and energy, ring today and get 20% OFF any treatment!!!
Limited appointments available, so get your skates on.

Wellness vs Sickness

I thought I'd put my newsletters here, so everyone can read them.

Wellness Newsletter 1

What is Wellness?

What’s the difference between Wellness and Sickness?
Is wellness the absence of illness, or sickness the absence of wellness?
I think life is a little greyer than that!

Between sickness and wellness is a great expanse of ‘not sick yet’.

Think about our Health system- it is really a sickness system. We wait for the body to get sick (or hurt or broken or not working quite right) and then we go to a health professional to get it fixed.
What if we maintained our ‘Wellness’ by keeping our bodies physically and emotionally strong so that it can heal itself when it needs to?
Interesting concept, hey?

So, how do we do this?
Well, we need to fuel the body with good stuff- eating a variety of good, fresh foods.
Drinking adequately – water, not alcohol (ha-ha).
Sleeping well and exercise.
Finding time to have fun with others - be it family or friends or both.
Being happy in our own company too.
Learning to listen to our bodies and acknowledging what signals it is sending us.
Trying to be flexible in our thinking – aim to be a willow tree, not an oak.
Willow trees bend with the wind and bounce back up. Oak trees, whilst strong, are also rigid and are more likely to break or blow over if the wind is strong enough!

If you want and need help in gaining your own ‘Wellness’, I can help –

Just mention this newsletter to take the next step in Wellness!
You can be the best you can be.

Maximising Living

Wellness Newsletter of Robyn Stitt

SPRING is just around the corner!!!!

How do you feel about the season of new beginnings?

Do you feel enthusiastic about the soon -to -be -here -spring and ready to tackle some new challenges?
Or does winter give you an excuse for rugging up with the heater (and TV) on and not doing too much?
Does the thought of warmer weather cause feelings of procrastination and inevitability that you will have to venture out into the world?
How would you like to get the most you possibly can out of your life?

How much do you get out of your life?

Do you feel like your life and lifestyle is diminishing as time goes on?
Can you do all that you used to be able to and enjoy things to the same degree, or do the days seem to melt into the same’ Groundhog’ grind?
Just because the days go by and we all get older, doesn’t mean we need to accept limitations on our abilities.
Do you wonder why some people who may be old in years seem vibrant and youthful?
You can be as wonderful as you deserve to be- and we all deserve to be well and wonderful, don’t we?

What if we maintained our ‘Wellness’ so that we can get as much out of life as we possibly can?

Interesting concept, hey?
No more waking up tired,
No more feeling overwhelmed by the little things that all add up,
No more worrying about yesterday or tomorrow- let’s put all our energy into TODAY!!

So, how do we do this?

When our bodies are strong physically, emotionally and spiritually, we can hold on to our own energy and use it to have the best life we can. If we are run down, stressed or unsupported then we use up so much energy trying to hold things together that we have precious little for the fun things in life.
Remember, life is for LIVING!!
Being a Wellness Consultant, I can help you to de-stress, get yourself back in control and supporting yourself to achieve goals you probably thought impossible.

If you want and need help in gaining your own ‘Wellness’, I can help –

Maintaining the Balance

Wellness Nesletter of Robyn Stitt

Maintaining your Wellness!!!!

How do you keep up all this Wellness?

If only life was static and controllable-
We would be able to get well and stay there and not need any follow-up or maintenance treatments, but it’s not!
Life has an uncanny knack of throwing things our way when we least expect it, or already have too much on our plates. How often have you heard yourself saying, ‘Oh, not now- this can’t happen now. I have too much to deal with already!’
If people maintained their wellness and only wasted energy on current issues, we would be more able to cope with these little things that crop up all the time.
Do you keep on top of things, or ignore them in the hope that they will go away, only to find they get out of hand?

When to maintain Wellness?

I like to think of Wellness as gardening or housework. Strange analogy I know but read on to follow my thinking….
Imagine your garden in the Spring. The weeds start to pop their heads up through the earth, they’re only tiny, there isn’t too many of them, they are not a problem. But soon, sooner than you think, the whole yard is covered in thick, tall weeds and it seems like a 2 day job ahead to pull them all up. What an effort!
If only you had invested an hour a couple of weeks ago when they were tiny.
Housework is the same. I sometimes laugh at ads on TV that talk about cleaning a revolting stovetop. Wipe it down each day after you have cooked on it and it will never get to that scrub, scrub, scrub awful mess!

Our bodies are the same.
By tackling issues when they are small and giving ourselves a ‘wipe over’ every time we have dealt with something stressful, we can maintain our Wellness and function better.

So, how do we do this?

Regular ‘tune-ups’ with a suitable therapist can give you that spring cleaned feeling.
Each person is different, but monthly for quarterly tune-ups can help everyone.
If it’s been a while since you weeded your garden, or wiped over the stove, maybe it’s time to give yourself some attention.
You will feel better for it.

Remember, life is for LIVING!!
Being a Wellness Consultant, I can help you to de-stress, get yourself back in control and supporting yourself to achieve goals you probably thought impossible.

Be Your BEST

Wellness newsletter of Robyn Stitt

What is the Best?
You don’t have to be THE best, just YOUR best.
Think about this for a minute- only one person can be THE best- best speller in the class, best swimmer at the Olympics, but nothing is stopping you from wanting to be and then being YOUR best.
Or is it?

That little voice inside your head can sabotage your dreams by saying you’re dumb, or hopeless, or no good. Saying things like, you don’t deserve to be happy, fit, successful or whatever can be extremely harmful to us!
By re-recording this internal dialogue, great changes can happen.

Think positive and positive things are more likely to happen, think negatively and negative things are more likely to happen. And acknowledge what you have.

It’s been said before, but it really is true.

Let me share a story with you….

There was a man who, despite earning good money, always seemed to live from week to week, never getting ahead or feeling comfortable financially.
He was fortunate enough to come into an unexpected $500 windfall. Instead of thanking his luck, he commented that,’ it’s not that much, I’ll still be broke.’
The very next day, his car broke down and the cost to fix it was, yep, you guessed it, $500! He didn’t get to enjoy a single dollar of it.
If only he had his little voice saying,’ Thank you for every extra cent! I will soon have enough money.’ His situation might have been different.
(taken from Louise Hay’s You Can Heal Your Life)

Another example of this happened to a very good friend of mine just a few weeks ago…

She had the very unenviable situation of her husband dying suddenly leaving her with a toddler and small baby.
Now, it would be quite acceptable for her milk to dry up in such stressful circumstances, and she heard herself saying, “Oh dear, my milk is drying up! I won’t have enough milk.” And her milk was drying up- FAST!
She had the wisdom to turn this thought around to, “I have enough milk, I can feed my baby.” I have enough and I can make more.” She is happily feeding her baby who is in turn gaining weight and sleeping well.

What else can this ‘internal dialogue’ help with?
I would like you to think about all the negative statements we say to ourselves every day. Most of you probably even start before you get up in the morning. And most of the time we don’t even realise we are doing it, we have done it for so long.
‘It’s too hot/ cold/ wet, it’s going to be such a bad day today’
‘Oh you stupid idiot, you stuffed that up again, didn’t you, just like always’
‘Go on, one more chocolate biscuit won’t hurt’
Would you be friends with someone who spoke constantly like that to you?
What if we changed the way we spoke to ourselves?

So, how do we do this?
Well, on your own it’s not easy. It is a bad habit, just like smoking or biting your nails that we need to re-train.
Add to this that you may never have heard nice things about yourself and it can seem impossible. You may feel you don’t deserve nice things – well guess what, you do!
That’s where a suitably trained therapist can assist you.
You will need to do some work too, but with gentle guidance, anything is possible.

If you want and need help in ‘re-recording your voice inside your head’, make an appointment –

You can be the best you can be.
Come on, what have you got to lose?
